December 6, 2008 we celebrated the grand opening of the Swiss Center of North America. We were ready to begin our work.
In the past 15 years, we have inventoried more than 5,000 items including estate donations, Swiss club records and many things that you don't want thrown away.
We see 300 visitors annually. They come from the United States. Canada, Switzerland and other countries. Our guests include Karin Keller-Sutter of the Swiss Federal Council and then Swiss Ambassador Martin Dahinden.
We're committed to connecting with Swiss organizations like the Swiss Benevolent Society of Chicago.
We believe in sharing the fascinating traditions of Switzerland. Come winter we chase away the cold with the Appenzeller Silvesterchlauen.
Donate your Swiss club records. They'll be preserved in our Tritt Archive. Whether you want to donate, or help out there are many ways to support our work.
With the opening of our new gallery we nearly doubled our display footprint. Linda Schiesser believes we must preserve our Swiss heritage so she provided the major gift letting us transform a basement into display and meeting space.
When people visit we often hear "I had no idea all this was here." Take the video tour and in four minutes you'll understand that comment. We have worked hard to preserve Swiss cultural heritage.
The Swiss Center of North America values heritage, culture and our relationships with Switzerland.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located and incorporated in Wisconsin. We are dedicated to connecting, archiving, showcasing, educating, promoting and celebrating all that is Swiss in North America.
While our Center is in New Glarus, WI, our outreach extends throughout the United States, Canada and Switzerland. If you have items to donate, contact Beth Zurbuchen, president, at firstname.lastname@example.org
It is no secret that the true strength of an organization comes from its supporters like the Zgraggens and Eglis.
Your tax deductible gift support our everyday expenses and special projects. Thank you.
